Thousands have inundated T in the Park with complaints after a night of chaotic traffic problems around the Strathallan site.

People coming to and from the site were caught up huge traffic queues, with some having to wait up to five hours.

Festival organisers have taken to social media to apologise to drivers and revellers alike for was described on Facebook by one festival-goer as ‘a total shambles’.

The T in the Park Facebook page was bombarded with complaints last night and early this morning.

One festival-goer, Kristina Press, said: “This is a joke!!! No steward or organisation!! Cars stuck in mud. God knows how we will get home.”

Another, Leanne Gray, said: “Not only cars an issue shuttle buses and pick up cars coming into and out of the same point.

“The buses are opening their doors and filling up before even getting to the bus stop area – people being left with no choice but to walk’

“Yes teething problems but same issues as last night and will be the same tomorrow night too.”

Jane Frett posted: “An absolute shambles. My daughter stood for three hours while we battled through the horrific traffic, with no help from anyone.”

Last night an organiser at T in the Park posted: “We are very sorry that some of you are still waiting in queues at the pick up/ drop off areas. We are working hard to get vehicles moving and will have an update for you as soon as we can. Once again, we are so sorry!”

And follow it up again this morning, apologising for the Saturday night problems, saying: “Before the music starts again, we would like to apologise to everyone that was affected by the traffic delays coming in and out of the drop off points last night.

“We’re working hard to fix the things that went wrong and we will issue more information here as soon as possible to try and minimise any delays going forward.

“Please know that we are truly sorry for the experience some of you had.”
