The man was discovered around 7.30am on the shoreline near Greenan Castle, Ayr. The force said they did not know the circumstances surrounding his death, but that a post mortem examination will be carried out “in due course”. A spokesman said: “The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.” The man has been described as white, 5ft 8 and of medium build. He was in his 50s and had short “graying” hair. He was wearing a blue hooded zipped top, blue denims and black trainers. Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101.
