The discovery was made in the early hours of this morning (August 10) at a flat in the seaside town’s Christie’s Lane. The two-storey block remained cordoned off as detectives examined the scene. Police have said the death is being treated as unexplained. No further details of the deceased have been released at this stage. Neighbours said they were “shocked” to wake up to the police presence in the area, but were unaware of any incident relating to the man’s death. A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland attended at Christie’s Lane in Montrose at 6.15am on Sunday August 9 following the death of a man. “The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries are continuing.”
