A pensioner has died in hospital after he was struck by a bus earlier this week.
The incident took place on Edinburgh’s Frederick Street on Wednesday and the 65-year-old pedestrian was taken to the city’s royal infirmary with serious injuries.
He was subsequently transferred to Western General Hospital but died earlier this evening .
Sergeant Ross Drummond of the city’s road policing unit said: “Our sincere condolences go to the family and friends of the 65-year-old, who have requested that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time.
“Our investigation continues into the full circumstances surrounding the collision and I’d like to thank the witnessess who have so far come forward and assisted with our enquiries.
