A woman is to be reported to the procurator fiscal following a “serious accident” on the A9.
The road is still closed between the B8079 Blair Atholl and the B8079 Pitagowan.
The accident on a single-carriageway stretch involved a G4S security van and a car.
Police are directing traffic and serious delays are expected, with a diversion through Blair Atholl.
Two people were treated for their injuries at the scene.
Fire crews from Dunkeld and Pitlochry were called to the crash at 11.24am and a helicopter from Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, based at Perth airport, also attended.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said that, a man in his fifties had been airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee hospital.
A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 74-year-old woman has been charged following a road traffic collision involving a Peugeot car and a Mercedes Sprinter van on the A9 near Blair Atholl this morning (Wednesday, September 2).
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
