Police said the double-decker bus and Vauxhall Insignia car collided on Petersburn Road, Airdrie, at 08:40. The pupils, from Caldervale High School, were taken by ambulance to Monklands and Wishaw Hospitals. The car driver and his passenger were not injured. The road remains closed while police investigate the crash. It is understood that the bus carrying the pupils was travelling from the Chapelhall area.
