Police searching for 88-year-old Janet McKay who has been missing for over a week have found a body.
The family of Ms Mckay reported the dementia sufferer missing from her Knightswood home last week and police launched a search operation around the Clydebank area.
This morning a body was found, with a police spokesman confirming: “Although formal identification has still to take place, police believe it to be Janet McKay and her family has been informed.
“A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death, however, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A major search was launched for dementia patient Janet after she was reported missing by her family last Wednesday.
