The back-and-forth comes after it was reported on Sunday that the former first minister attempted to board a plane using the alias James Kirk – the role Shatner made famous in the hit sci-fi series. The American insitution obviously saw the funny side in the story and jokingly poked fun at the Gordon MP. Mr Salmond, a self-confessed proud “trekkie”, then showed off his own photo-editing skills to respond to his hero. .@WilliamShatner But who is who? 😉 #SetPhasersToFun pic.twitter.com/HvjLChhhUT — Alex Salmond (@AlexSalmond) October 6, 2015
