Police have said they are becoming increasingly concerned for a missing Englishwoman who is thought to be travelling in Scotland.
Katie Grout, 23, from Berwick, was reported missing after leaving her home in the town at 7am on Thursday.
She left home driving her silver Vauxhall Corsa car registration DY61 HJJ and was spotted near Harthill Service Station on the M8.
She is believed to be travelling to Glasgow but may have travelled further in Scotland.
The 23-year-old is described as white, 5ft 5in tall, of very slim build, with shoulder length brown hair and a small scar under her chin.
She was wearing black and white checked trousers, a black long sleeved top and grey boots.
Police appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
Superintendent Scott Hall said: “We appeal to Katie, or anyone who may know where she is, to contact us straight away.”
He added: “Katie’s family and friends are concerned for her welfare and are keen for her to make contact with them as soon as possible to let them know she’s safe and well.”
