The Met Office has amber “be prepared” warnings in place for rain and wind in the north west of Scotland, however, it is further south where flooding seems to have hit first.
North and South Lanarkshire have been hit particularly badly by the wind and rain.
Pictures on social media show cars struggling to battle through the rain, with streets in Bellshill and Hamilton appear to be particularly badly effected.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has issued flood alerts and warnings for Dumfries and Galloway, Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire and Arran, Skye and Lochaber, and Speyside.
The Met Office have issued yellow “be aware” warnings covering the majority of Scotland.
