Tyson Fury picked up a purse of £5m last weekend but spent a cool £80 on a B&B in Perth for his post-bout relax.
Boxing fanatic Tommy McPhee, chef and manager of the Red Brolly Inn in Ballinluig, just off the A9, was almost floored when the ‘Gypsy King’ , and newly-crowned world heavyweight champion, rolled up.
Tommy, 48, from Auchterarder, said Tyson was excited to be in Scotland and was looking forward to a real get away following all the attention and media following his incredible success in Düsseldorf.
Tommy, recognised Fury and his father instantly.
The conqueror of 39-year-old giant and now former WBO heavyweight champion of the world Wladimir Klitschko, enjoyed pancakes for breakfast and gave the B&B owner compliments and down to earth chat about a variety of subjects.
The rest of his entourage, which included his father, couldn’t resist the full Scottish of sausage, bacon, eggs and black pudding
Fury told staff he was enjoying a bit of R&R in north of the border.
A week ago underdog Fury went the distance with Klitschko in Dusseldorf where he secured a points victory.
