VIDEO: Lorry driver tries to go through flood…it goes very wrong very fast

This video, which was filmed in Ireland in 2014 during intense flooding, shows exactly why you should never drive into floodwaters.

Last week north-east politicians condemned motorists who continue to drive past road closure signs.

The emergency services have urged drivers not to jeopardise the recovery process by ignoring signs that have been erected to keep people safe.

Former First Minister Alex Salmond visited areas that have been affected yesterday, including Inverurie, where he praised the actions of the emergency services.

But the Gordon MP also pleaded with people to adhere to signs which had been put in place for safety.

A statement this morning from North East Police Division said: “Please do not ignore road closed signs – they are there for your own safety.”
