Motorists are being warned to avoid the Arbroath to Montrose road after the smash at Ferryden Bridge between a car, a pick-up truck and a van. Three fire appliances, one from Montrose and two from Brechin are on the scene and a heavy rescue unit from Dundee is also in attendance. A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that there had been casualties, but had no further details. Local diversions are being put in place. Police are on the scene directing traffic.
