Is this the best photograph of the Northern Lights ever?

An Icelandic photographer has taken this stunning shot of the Aurora Borealis. which has gone viral.

Hallgrimur P. Helgason‎ took the shot and shared it with Facebook group ‘Iceland the Photographers Paradise’.

He named the image  Phoenix rising, saying: “One of my favourite Aurora shots.

“Sometimes the “Lights” put on a spectacular show, but unfortunately images like that don’t last long.

“I was shooting another direction when this phenomeon appeared at the corner of my eye. Of course I quickly repositioned the camera and made three shots vertorama to get it all.”

The settings on my Sony a99 and the 14mm Samyang were 8 sec.
