Man arrested following “major” incident in Scots town

Police have arrested a man on a warrant following a “major” incident in a Scottish town.
Several marked cars and vans were spotted along Forfar’s St James Road, near Asda and Strathmore Primary School this morning.
The Tayside division of Police Scotland confirmed a “major” incident was under way.
Officer have now said it was a “contained incident” which presented “no threat” to the wider public.
A 29-year-old man is not expected to appear in court at a future date following the arrest.
A statement from the force adds: “Police Scotland can confirm that following an earlier incident in the St James Road area of Forfar a 29-year-old man has been arrested on a warrant and will appear at court in due course.
“This was a contained incident while it was ongoing and there was no threat to the wider public at any time.”
