A Glasgow couple were met with surprise when their beloved dog gave birth to a staggering 14 puppies.
Andrew Hart and Kirstin Shepherd had originally thought that their Victorian bulldog Juma was only pregnant with around 5 or 6 pups so were shocked when 14 arrived.
Three-year-old Juma gave birth to the impressive litter after undergoing a gruelling Caesarian birth.
Breeder Ronayne Victorian Bulldogs posted a welcome to the new arrival of pups on social media.
On their Facebook page, they said: “Well done to Juma and Chuck, 14 Victorian Bulldog pups for the club and some new records set.
“Chuck beating one of Rigsbys record of 10 pups in one litter and the biggest litter I have ever heard of in 9 years of breeding.
“All pups are doing well and obviously hard work will start in the upcoming weeks but great news all round.
“I’m also very proud to have done this mating for the club after all these years, makes all the hard worthwhile.”
The price to pay for a Victorian bulldog pup will vary between £1400 for a female and £1300 for a male.
