Police remain on the scene after a woman was killed in an attack at her house in an upmarket suburb.
Officers were called to a disturbance in Beech Avenue in the East Renfrewshire town of Newton Mearns on Tuesday night.
The body of the 39-year-old, believed to be a mother-of-two, was found at the property and officers are said to be following a “definite line of inquiry”.
Forensic teams remain at the house, which has been cordoned off.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A 39-year-old woman has died following an incident at a house in Beech Avenue, Newton Mearns, on Tuesday.
“Police enquiries are continuing and officers are following a definite line of inquiry.”
