The incredible moment when a haunting mist of haar filled the skyline of a Scottish harbour town has been caught on film by an amateur photographer.
Social media user Robert Garland caught the stunning footage as the cold fog made its way over the horizon of Burntisland, Fife.
The footage, which he posted to Facebook, has attracted hundreds of fans from all over the country and seen comparisons made to the movies of legendary director Alfred Hitchcock.
Haar, comprising of thick sea mist, is usually seen between April and September, when warm air passes over the cold North Sea.
