The bizarre theft took place at the home of George Docherty – who has had the monument, which weighs two stone, for 20 years. The 75-year-old said he was stunned when he discovered the statue, which sits on a wall next to his driveway in Gourock, Inverclyde, had been taken. After scouring his private CCTV camera footage, George hopes he has found the culprit, who put the statue in a car and drove off.
