Storm Gertrude: Many Highland roads blocked or closed

Heavy rain, extremely high winds, blizzards and floods are forecast to batter the north today and over the rest of the weekend as Storm Gertrude, rolls across the country.
Roads across the region are strewn with debris and trees.

The A9 Dornoch Bridge is closed between the A949 junction in Dornoch and the A836 junction in Tarlogie, because of strong winds.
The A832 in Aultbea closed in both directions at the Altbea junction, because of a fallen tree.
Strong winds are reported on the A9 Kessock Bridge between Inverness and North Kessock.
The A82 in Invermoriston partially blocked in both directions at the A887 junction, because of a fallen tree.
The A86 is closed in both directions between the A889 junction in Laggan and the Station Road junction in Newtonmore, because of a fallen tree.
The A82 is closed in both directions between the B8004 junction in Spean Bridge and the A87 junction in Invergarry, because of debris on the road there is a diversion in operation – via the A9 and A86.
