Police have confirmed that the A939 between Cock Bridge and Tomintoul has been blocked because of heavy snowfall. The B974 Cairn O’Mount road has also been shut for similar reasons. A yellow weather warning is in place throughout the north and north-east until 11am tomorrow morning. Please don't attempt the Glenshee Road tonight – this is how Cairnwell near the ski centre was looking a short time ago. pic.twitter.com/lvVSVJCnj8 — Aberdeenshire Roads (@AbshireRoads) October 26, 2018 The Met Office has forecast hail, sleet and snow for large parts of north Scotland. A spokesman said: “Hail, sleet and snow showers will leave surfaces prone to patchy ice, together with slushy snow over some upland routes.” *NEW* 20:15⌚#A939 SNOW GATES are ⛔CLOSED⛔ between Cock Bridge and Tomintoul. #BeAware pic.twitter.com/pd6KbiIbvL — Traffic Scotland (@trafficscotland) October 26, 2018
