Walking stick flies off roof of north-east car….motorist calls police
By
It is traditionally a busy weekend for the emergency services, with fireworks displays being held across the north-east.
However in one of the less serious call-outs of the day, police were alerted after a walking stick was seen flying off the roof of a car on one of the region’s busiest roads.
The vehicle was driving along the A96 Aberdeen to Inverurie road, at Tyrebagger, when the walking aid was spotted coming off a car at about 1.30pm.
A fellow motorist then reported the incident to the police.
It is believed the driver had left the stick on the roof of their vehicle prior to driving off.
A police spokeswoman said: “Somebody had been following them and had seen it, the walking stick fell off the roof of the car. ”
She said police had been informed the walking stick was now next to Marshall Trailers.
However, when officers arrived they were unable to locate it.
