A new timetable will be rolled out for buses across the north and north-east next month.
The changes to Stagecoach’s timetable have been made in response to customer feedback from local public transport forums, and come into effect on January 9.
For Aberdeenshire passengers, new connections will be introduced at Monymusk.
For those further north, a new service connecting Nairn to the Inverness Campus will be rolled out.
Mark Whitelocks, managing director for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “It is great to be able to introduce another new connection to Inverness Campus, this time from Nairn. We are keen to do all we can to make travelling by bus to the campus an attractive option.”
One of the most common complaints from customers has been delays, caused by congestion in the towns served.
Mr Whitelocks said: “Congestion is our biggest day to day challenge and we know that the delays caused to our customers as a result cause an inconvenience.
“We will continue to work closely with the local authorities and regional transport partnerships in a bid to improve the ongoing challenges we are experiencing with congestion in Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverness.”
The 11U service will operate directly to and from Inverness campus to Nairn. Timings of some of the services within the Moray area will be changed slightly, those impacted are the 10, 11/11A, 30, 36 and 38.
Within Aberdeenshire services 420, X20 and 421 will revised with various journeys on services 420 and X20 being extended to serve Monymusk.
