A woman has been cut free from her vehicle following a crash on the north-east’s busiest road.
Firefighters had to rescue her following the two car collision on the northbound carriageway of the A90 Aberdeen to Stonehaven road, at the entrance to Portlethen.
The incident involving a white Ford Kuga and blue Ford Fiesta took place just before 3pm, with one car landing on its roof.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the crash and remain at the scene dealing with the incident.
One lane of the northbound carriageway was blocked following the collision, with another in the southbound section closed to allow for the woman to be released from the vehicle.
Nobody is believed to be seriously injured.
A police spokeswoman said: “It is causing delays. A female driver was taken out of one of the vehicles, while doing this they had to close the southbound lane.
“We are still at the scene.”
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said two appliances, one from Altens and another from Aberdeen Central, were called to the scene.
She added: “We removed one female from a vehicle and the casualty is being assessed by paramedics. We made the scene safe. Small tools were in use.”
