Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road, between Keith and Fochabers at North Bogbain, shortly after 4pm. Police have now confirmed a woman has died as a result of the two-car crash. A second woman was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment. The road remains closed. A police statement said: “The incident involving two cars was reported at around 4.15pm today. “Sadly, a female driver has sadly died as a result of the collision. Another female driver has been taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital. “The road remains closed and diversions are in place northbound via the B9016 and southbound on the A98. “Motorists are thanked for their patience.” Traffic heading towards Elgin is being rerouted onto the B9016 and motorists heading south should use the A98.
