Major roadworks at Dunbeath in Caithness are likely to cause delays in and around the town from this morning – for the next five and a half weeks.
The C1089 Dunbeath Brae Road will be closed from 9am today (WED) to allow work to stabilise the road and the embankment.
Diversions will operate throughout the period.
Caithness and Sutherland roads operations manager Graham Mackenzie said the route would be closed – to vehicles and pedestrians – until 5pm on April 28 or until the closure signs are removed.
The stretch affected is between the Brae Road junction with the (U2866) Dunbeath Shore Road and its junction with the (U2874) Balnabruich Road.
Barriers will be erected across the route and the footpaths along it.
