Adam Prosser lives with his parents in Wales but was in Moray working on a huge Network Rail project to expand the station at Forres. The 27-year-old was stopped by police on the town’s Victoria Road at 1am on Sunday, March 19. Yesterday he appeared in the dock at Elgin Sheriff Court. Prosser, of Martin Close in Heolgerrig, Merthyr Tydfil, admitted to driving his blue Seat Ibiza after an evening of drinking. He was found to have 82 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, nearly quadruple the legal limit of 22mcg. Prosser’s solicitor, Brent Lockie, said the rail worker had been drinking with colleagues after dining out together that night. Mr Lockie added: “The accused was staying at a caravan park in Brodie, about five or six miles out of Forres. “He should have got a taxi to take him back there, but he took a chance and decided to do it himself. “He is a hard worker and a law-abiding man, so this was out of character.” Sheriff Chris Dickson fined Prosser £465 and disqualified him from driving for a year.
