Commuters facing disruption after Highland line hit by landslips
ByReporter
A Highland train line will remain closed today following a landslip.
ScotRail said that a landslip between Inverness and Dingwall meant the line had to close – and confirmed this morning that the situation remains the same.
The train company sent engineers out to the site last night and a full inspection was expected to be carried out in daylight.
A statement on the company’s site reads: “Due to a landslip between Inverness and Beauly the line is blocked. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
“Train services between Inverness and Kyle Of Lochalsh will be terminated at and started back from Dingwall. All stations between Inverness and Dingwall will not be served.
Revised:
Inverness – Wick will operate between Dingwall and Thurso now, as we also have another landslip at Wick which means we are unable to operate to and from Wick.”
