Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Roads, Landscape Services and Waste Management, Philip McKay, said: “While we recognise local concerns we have inspected the site and our initial view is that any scheme to improve visibility would be complex and costly.
“At present the location of the Coach House restricts visibility at the junction. To achieve greater visibility there are two main options: demolish the Coach House or realign around a quarter of a mile of the B933. Either option would involve significant cost.
“In terms of road safety, records for the period 2005-17 show there were no road traffic collisions causing injury at the junction and no conflicts between vehicles turning out of the minor road and vehicles on the B993. However, in that period there were three “damage only” RTCs where the cause was related to cars following too closely on the main road.”
