5.30pm: Commuters warned not to travel tomorrow morning as the amber weather warning is extended.
3:35pm: Aberdeenshire Council closes its service points early. Contact centres will remain open until 6pm.

3.20pm: North-east MSP Jenny Marra has taken aim at Holyrood after becoming stranded in Edinburgh.

1.50pm: Farmers are facing huge challenges keeping their livestock safe during the winter storms. NFU Mutual’s Tim Price has said the current prolonged conditions have been as bad as he’s seen for a generation.
1:15pm: NHS 24 has been operating at 50% of its capacity because of staffing issues caused by the ongoing winter storms.
12.45pm: The Met Office has extended a severe weather warning for the north and north-east of Scotland until Monday night.
12.05pm: Traffic lights at Dyce Drive, Kingsgate/Stronsay are all back working. However, George Street/St Andrews Street traffic lights are still off with engineers currently working on them.
12pm: A90 affected badly by wintry conditions between Stonehaven and Laurencekirk.
Traffic Scotland has warned of hazardous conditions on the A90. Northsound is reporting the road is currently down to one lane.

10.30am: Virgin Trains advises passengers not to travel in Scotland today
A spokeswoman for the rail operator said: “Due to heavy snow and extreme weather conditions across the country, we are advising customers, who are booked to travel to or from destinations in Scotland and north of Newcastle, not to travel today.
“All ticket restrictions have been lifted today and tomorrow. Your ticket will be valid for travel on any Virgin Trains East Coast train.
“We are currently working with Network Rail and monitoring weather conditions over the coming hours. Regular updates on train running are also available online.”
