A female cyclist was injured yesterday after falling at the level crossing by Garve on the A835 road north towards Ullapool.
Police and ambulance personnel are understood to have attended the scene to assess and care for the injured patient. The patient was taken to Raigmore Hospital where her condition understood to be not serious.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 9.49am today to attend an incident at the Garve level crossing, Wester Ross.
“We dispatched one ambulance and one female patient was transported to Raigmore Hospital.”
Due to the emergency services presence slight disruption to the rail service occurred.
The 8.55am ScotRail Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh service terminated at Strathcarron. Alternative transportation was offered to customers on board the train before the 12:08 Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness ScotRail service started again from Strathcarron.
A ScotRail Alliance spokesperson said: “We apologise to customers who are affected by this disruption, and understand their frustration when these things happen.
