Long delays between Aberdeen and Inverness are expected after a ScotRail train struck cattle on the railway line and is now unable to move.
Due to the remote location, the public have been warned of disruptions until at least 8pm tonight.
There is currently an incident officer on site and train engineers are having to walk to the site.
UPDATE: One of our trains has struck cattle on the railway between Keith and #Elgin. We’ve mobilised staff who are heading to site now. We’re expecting disruption between Aberdeen & Inverness to continue for several hours at least. ^CT
Replacement buses have been secured at Inverness, Aberdeen and Elgin.
UPDATE: #Elgin: Our staff have been hard at work and we’ve managed to get the damaged train on the move towards Elgin.
The animals have now been removed from the line and we’re able to run trains on this route. ^AE
