The study, by price comparison site Go Compare, analysed Department for Transport data to show the pressure Britain’s road network is under. London topped the list with drivers spending an average of 73 hours per year stuck in traffic. Manchester pipped the Granite City to second with drivers spending an average of 39 hours per year in traffic. The study showed that Aberdonians spend an average of 35 hours in traffic each year, beating Edinburgh by four hours.
