Police have named a motorcyclist who died following a collision with three cars in Moray as investigations continue.
The biker, named as Stuart Smith, 35, had been travelling towards Buckie on his blue and white Suzuki GSXR motorcycle when the tragedy happened on Friday night.
It happened on a stretch of the A98 Fochabers to Cullen road.
Tributes have now been paid to Mr Smith online, with one friend Neil Toner posting a heartfelt message on Facebook.
He said: “I met you in primary school wee click, became bros. Welcomed into your family like a son and brother.
“I have so many memories with you man the laughs we had growing up and the stories we could tell.
“You’re my bro and you Starry Eyed Nel always will be my friend my brother. Sleep tight pal I miss you.”
Mr Smith is thought to have lived and worked in Buckie for a local removal company.
The crash took place at 6.45pm on Friday night near the Clochan junction, a mile-and-a-half from the Fochabers roundabout linking the A98 with the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road.
Police shut the road for several hours that night while the debris was cleared up and closed it again yesterday afternoon for about an hour to carry out further investigations.
They appealed for witnesses with Sergeant Peter Henderson of the Roads Policing Department urging anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
He said: “At this time our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased. I would urge anyone who may have seen these vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone who saw the incident itself, and has not yet spoken to police to get in contact by calling 101 or Crime Stoppers.”
