Train journeys will continue to be disrupted until at least 3pm tomorrow due to a derailed train at Stonehaven.
On Wednesday afternoon, an empty passenger train derailed at Stonehaven, resulting in a line closure between Aberdeen and Dundee.
An investigation was launched by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB), which lasted all of today.
And tonight, a National Rail spokesman confirmed the line will be closed until at least 3pm tomorrow while experts get the train back on track and assess the damage.
The spokesman said: “Due to the nature of the work required to re-rail the train and repair any damage to the infrastructure, the line is expected to remain closed until at least 3pm on Friday.”
Bus replacements have been organised.
