The railway line between Aberdeen and Dundee has been reopened this evening following three days of closures.
No trains have been able to travel between the two cities since Wednesday afternoon, when an empty passenger train came off the tracks at Stonehaven.
And now, following lengthy repair work and an investigation by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB), the line has been completely cleared.
A spokesman for ScotRail confirmed the derailed train left the scene of the incident, close to Stonehaven, just after 6pm, and services are now returning to normal.
The first services to operate as usual which will not be affected by the previous delays caused by the derailment are the 4.30pm Edinburgh to Inverurie train, and the 6.28pm Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street service.
