A person has died after being hit by a train in the south of Aberdeen this afternoon.
Officers from the British Transport Police and ambulance crews were called to St Fitticks Road in Torry just before 3.50pm.
A BTP spokesman said the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
ScotRail suspended its services between Aberdeen and Dundee as a result and laid on a number of replacement buses.

A spokesman said: “If you’re on board any trains which are stopped due to this incident, our conductors on board are in contact with our teams at Integrated Control.
“If you need help or assistance, please do speak to them if you need to.”
The railway line re-opened before 7pm, and a number of trains after this made additional stops in Stonehaven and Laurencekirk to help passengers get home.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland officers are currently dealing with an ongoing incident on the railway line adjacent to St Fitticks Road, Aberdeen.
“At this time there is no further information available.
“Until further notice vehicular and pedestrian traffic are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.”
