Vital repairs are to be carried out on a rural road was left looking like a “warzone” during the construction of the AWPR.
Aberdeenshire Council plans to close the C13K Lairhillock to Portlethen road, which connects the latter to the Netherley Road, to carry out resurfacing works.
The work comes after it was used as a central route for HGV traffic during the construction of the billion pound bypass.

The road deteriorated to such a state that the owners of the Lairhillock Inn claimed it had dealt a major blow to its trade.
They said customers were put off travelling there as there were so many potholes on the road – and the restaurant was subsequently put up for sale.
In April, the council’s roads experts said they would be seeking compensation from Transport Scotland, claiming the C13K had been used by an “unprecedented amount” of construction traffic, while one local likened it to a “warzone”.
It is now understood both organisations have both reached an agreement with re-surfacing work already carried out on the road which connects Netherley and Cookney.
This latest closure will last 12 days, running from January 12 to 25, between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
Motorists will have to drive more than 10 miles to get round the closure, which is between Rothick and Bourtreebush.
North Kincardine councillor Ian Mollison said he was pleased to see the road was now being restored.
He said: “This road really was in a dreadful state and I gratefully welcome that this has been prioritised in the council’s road repair schedule going forward.”
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: “We have received a significant contribution in compensation to be spent on carrying out work on the roads affected by the construction of the AWPR.
“The 15 to 20 roads affected will be repaired over the next 18 months to two years.”
