A time-lapse video showing the huge amount of work that has gone into the £50 million Haudagain Improvement scheme has been published.
Following the opening of the first major stretch of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) at the end of last year, Farrans Construction was awarded the contract for the improvement project at the notorious Aberdeen bottleneck.
Initial work in the area started last summer, and included the demolition of around 130 properties to make way for the new infrastructure.
It is hoped the project could be completed by 2021, easing congestion and reducing traffic queues on roads around the area.
In the time lapse footage, the sheer scale of the demolition can be shown as heavy construction vehicles tear through the more than 100 homes.
Michael Matheson, the Scottish Government cabinet secretary for transport, said: “This marks another significant milestone in delivering improvements for road users in the north-east.
“Already, people are feeling the benefits of the recently opened stretch of the AWPR.”
