A severe weather warning for ice has been announced for the north-east this morning.
The Met Office issued the yellow ‘be aware’ warning shortly after 3am today. It covers Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and parts of the Highlands.
The agency’s chief forecaster said there will be ice on untreated surfaces this morning, with some roads and railways likely to be affected.
The warning is in place until 12pm today.
The difficult conditions have prompted several difficulties on the roads. The A92 between Charleston and Newtonhill is closed this morning due a jack-knifed lorry, with police diverting drivers via the AWPR.
