The British Transport Police have launched an investigation following reports that a Dons supporter hurled Sectarian jibes on a train.
Officers yesterday appealed for information on the hate crime, which took place on board a train travelling from Dundee to Aberdeen on Saturday, April 6.
The Dons had defeated Dundee 2-0 at Dens Park that day, and the incident is thought to have occurred between 8pm and 8.15pm.
A man – who the organisation says identified as being part of a group of Aberdeen FC supporters – is reported to have shouted “indiscriminate anti-Catholic comments”.
The man is described as white, 6ft, and wearing dark trousers, a light-coloured top and a dark jacket.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the identity of the suspect.
People can contact the British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
Alternatively, anyone with information can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
