Trains between Aberdeen and Montrose were cancelled this morning after a lorry hit a railway bridge.
ScotRail said staff were being deployed to inspect the possible damage at Carmont, between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven.
Several trains between Aberdeen and Montrose have been called off, while a number of journeys from the central belt awere suspended at Montrose and Laurencekirk as they were unable to travel further north.
Rail staff arrived at the site just before 11.30am and said the line was able to be re-opened.
ScotRail has warned that some disruption will be possible until around 12.30pm.
