Train services between Aberdeen and Inverness were disrupted for a short time this evening due to an issue with a level crossing.
Scotrail said the level crossing at Boat of Kintore “failed” meaning trains were unable to cross it just after 8.30pm.
A tweet from the company states: “The level crossing at Boat of Kintore has failed meaning we are unable to run trains over the level crossing at the moment and as a result the lines are closed.
“We are mobilising staff at the moment who will be on site shortly.”
It said services between the Granite City and the Highland capital will be delayed or revised.
At 9pm they updated service users saying “the level crossing at Boat of Kintore is now operating by manual control and trains can run over the level crossing again”.
