Delays and possible cancellations for north-east train commuters

An upgraded Inter7City train that runs between Edinburgh and Aberdeen

Train passengers are experiencing delays and potential cancellations this evening following a signal fault at Arbroath.

ScotRail have apologised for the inconvenience as trains from both Glasgow and Edinburgh to Aberdeen have been affected.

The disruption is expected to last until around 8.15pm tonight.

A statement said: “Our colleagues at Network Rail are dealing with a signalling issue at Arbroath.

“Staff have been mobilised and will arrive on site shortly.

“Once we have more information from the ground we will keep you updated.”
