Four weeks of roadworks are to begin next week at the A9 near Aviemore.
The £395,000 Transport Scotland project to improve 1.2 miles of road surface is scheduled to start on Wednesday, and will be split into two phases.
Work will be carried out initially for 11 days – apart from the weekend – from 7am to 7pm at Aviemore Bypass, with temporary lights and a 10mph convoy system.
Then the project will get underway at the A9/A95 Granish Junction from Sunday, October 27, for three nights – running from 7pm to 7am.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This essential resurfacing project will create a much-improved road surface, greatly increasing the quality of the carriageway at this section of the A9.
“We’ve taken steps to help minimise disruption as much as much as possible during the project, including avoiding weekend working, however our teams will look to complete the improvements as quickly and safely as possible.”
