Heavy flooding has caused major disruption to rail services with trains forced to operate at slow speeds.
Around 100 metres of the track was flooded due to excessive rainfall at the Slochd summit between Aviemore and Carrbridge.
ScotRail services travelling between Inverness and the central belt were forced to terminate at Aviemore for up to two hours this morning.
The line has since reopened but disruption is still expected into the afternoon with trains operating at a 5mph speed limit.

A ScotRail statement said: “Following a speed restriction because of heavy rain earlier today between Inverness and Carrbridge some lines are now open. Disruption is expected until 3.15pm.
“Train services between Edinburgh and Inverness are returning to normal but some services may still be delayed or revised.”
A bus replacement service was introduced to aid passengers with their journeys.
ScotRail services between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban have also been affected due to a broken rail at Taynuilt.
Network Rail have closed the line for safety reasons while engineers work to repair the damaged fishplate.
