Police are asking motorists to be vigilant on the roads this morning following snowfall.
The A96 and the A98 around the Fochabers area has been affected by the adverse weather with slow moving traffic expected.
A police statement said: “Snow is affecting some of our roads in Moray this morning, including the A96 and A98 around Fochabers.
“Please take care and allow extra time for any journey this morning.”
Officers are also reporting of poor road conditions on the A85, A819 and the A82 with snow and ice on the roads.
Emergency services did attended a two-car crash near the Kessock Bridge in Inverness this morning.
The incident happened around 8.25am on Stadium road.
There were no injuries and the road remains clear.
Stuck in the snow
Police are asking motorists to avoid parts of the Cairngorms today after a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) got stuck in the snow.
The A93 at the Spittal of Glenshee is currently closed as recovery efforts continue to remove stationary the lorry.
Gritters are attending but are having difficulty due to the traffic.
Weather warning
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the north and north-east with ice and snow likely to cause disruption.
A statement said: “Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
“Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths may cause some injuries from slips and falls.”
The warning has been issued until 11am.
