The incident happened between Inverurie and Insch and has caused damage to the front of the train. Scotrail said the train is “unable to proceed” to Inverness and will terminate at Insch. “We are attempting to secure replacement transport to take passengers forward to Inverness.” The statement added staff with cutting equipment were expected to arrive on site at 5.30pm. Services affected so far include: The 3.30pm Inverness to Aberdeen service is being delayed at Huntly.
