Overnight 10mph convoys will be in place on a section of one of the north-east’s main routes next week.
Resurfacing work worth £145,000 will begin on the southbound carriageway of the A92 Aberdeen to Dundee road at Newtonhill.
It is expected to last for five nights from Monday, with partial closures in place from 7.30pm until 6.30am.
Motorists will have to follow a 10mph convoy system during this time.
The southbound Newtonhill slip roads will also be closed, with diversions in place for those affected.
Bear Scotland says the work is due for completion by 6.30am on Saturday, August 8.
Andy Thompson, from the organisation’s north east unit, said: “This £145,000 investment from Transport Scotland will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A92, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible during the improvements, including carrying out the works overnight and removing all traffic management during the daytime to further limit any impact to motorists.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements.
“We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
