A further partial road closure has been announced as work continues to upgrade the notorious Haudagain roundabout in Aberdeen.
Construction of a 1,600ft road linking North Anderson Drive and Auchmill Road is underway to allow motorists to bypass the bottleneck.
The Haudagain is often plagued with traffic jams – particularly at peak times – and was once named the most congested roundabout in Europe.
From Monday, one northbound lane of North Anderson Drive, leading up to the Haudagain, will be closed for approximately five weeks.
Additionally, one of the southbound lanes will be blocked off during the next two weekends, beginning at 7pm on the Friday until 7am on the Monday.
Transport Scotland says the measures are needed to allow utility diversion works to take place.
The £50million project is due for completion next year.
A spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the local community and road users for their continued cooperation.”
